Intel® SCS with SSD Pro Series Plug-in Deployment Guide

Install Console-Side Profile Editor Plug-in

Once you have installed Intel SCS on your management

console system, you need to install the Profile Editor plug-in.

The Profile Editor plug-in (which is used to create an Intel

SCS Profile for tuning your OS to work better with Intel SSD

drives) is distributed with Intel SCS, but must be moved to

the console’s active plugins folder to be used.

Follow these steps:

1. Login to the computer running the Intel SCS Console.

2. Locate the solution framework folder; the default

location is:

C:\Program Files\Intel\SCS9\Solutions_Framework\

3. Copy the SSDProfileEditor sub-folder from the

solutions framework folder to the console plugins

folder (Figure 2):

C:\Program Files\Intel\SCS9\Console\Plugins

4. Close and re-open the Intel SCS Console.

Copy Required Files

On the management console system, do the following:

1. In the Intel SCS installation folder

\IntelSCS\Solutions_Framework\SSDSolution\

SSDHostDLL\Release\, copy the file ssdpro.dll to a folder on

the management console system (i.e., c:\prossd_files).

2. In the folder \IntelSCS\Solution_Framework\

SSDSolution\SSDHostDLL\, copy the files Installx86.reg and

Installx64.reg to the same location as the DLL.

NOTE: Installx86.reg is for 32 bit clients and Installx64.reg is

for 64 bit clients, so only extract the file you need for your

clients.

3. In the folder \IntelSCS\Solutions_Framework\Framework,

copy the files HostSolutionManagerInstaller.msi and

HostSolutionManager-silent-install.bat to the same location.

Proceed to the next step.
