Intel® SCS with SSD Pro Series Plug-in Deployment Guide

Edit the Registry Key File(s)
The Intel SCS 9 client framework uses WMI to interact with
framework-compatible components like the ssdpro.dll library. In
order for the framework’s WMI query to find ssdpro.dll, the client
needs a registry key pointing to the location of the ssdpro.dll file.
NOTE: If your clients are 32 bit OS, use Installx86.reg in the
instructions below. For 64 bit OS clients, use Installx64.reg.
On the management console system, do the following:
1. In your temporary folder (e.g., c:\prossd_files), open the
appropriate registry key file (Installx86.reg or Installx64.reg)
for editing.
2. Edit the path in the registry key to point to the location
where you plan to copy the ssdpro.dll file on each client (for
example, c:\prossd_files\ssdpro.dll). Refer to the two
examples below:
HKLM\Software\Intel\Intel(r) Setup and
Configuration Software\Solution\Intel SSD
Pro\path = “c:\prossd_files\ssdpro.dll”
HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Intel\Intel(r)
Setup and Configuration
Software\Solution\Intel SSD Pro\path =
“c:\prossd_files\ssdpro.dll”
Proceed to the next step.
Figure 4: Edit the Appropriate Registry File
Once you have located and edited the required files on the
management console, you are ready to copy the files to the
managed clients and perform the client configuration.
On each managed client, do the following:
1. Copy the four required files, listed below, from the
management console to the managed client (for example,
to c:\prossd_files).
ssdpro.dll
HostSolutionManagerInstaller.msi
HostSolutionManager-silent-install.bat
Installx64.reg OR Installx86.reg
2. Import the edited registry file into the client’s registry.
3. Install the Intel SCS 9 client framework by running the batch
file HostSolutionManager-silent-install.bat.
4. Reboot the client (required).
That completes the client setup.
